# .com or .com.tr? Which extension suits whom

The most common question when choosing a domain is the extension. Both are good options; your target audience decides.

### .com

It is the most widespread and best-known extension worldwide. It is the first choice if you want to reach international customers or think of your brand as global. Because it is so popular, short and memorable names are often already taken.

### .com.tr and .tr

They give a local trust signal for businesses that serve customers in Turkey. .com.tr is usually chosen for commercial sites. Additional verification may be requested when registering these extensions.

### Which one to choose?

- If you only sell in the Turkish market, .com.tr is enough; if .com is also available, registering both protects your brand.
- If you will also sell abroad, .com should come first.
- If you registered both, make one the main address and redirect the other to it.
