Domain Registration Agreement

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This agreement sets out the special terms for domain registration, renewal, transfer and management through TiklaWeb. It forms a whole with the Terms of Service, the Distance Sales Agreement and the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

1. Definitions and TiklaWeb’s Role

  • Domain holder (“Holder”): The person in whose name the domain is registered. This is you, as a TiklaWeb customer.
  • Registry: The organisation that manages the domain extension (e.g. Verisign for .com, BTK/TRABİS for .tr).
  • Registrar: The accredited organisation that registers domains with the registry.
  • TiklaWeb is an intermediary/reseller that provides domain services through third-party registrars and suppliers. Domain rules are set by registries and registrars; TiklaWeb cannot change them.

2. Holder Information and Accuracy

  • The domain is registered in your name with the details you provide at registration (name or company name, address, email, phone and, where needed, national ID or tax number), and the right to use it is yours.
  • You are responsible for keeping this information accurate, complete and current. Incorrect or unverifiable information may lead to the domain being suspended or cancelled. TiklaWeb is not liable for resulting loss.
  • For international extensions (gTLDs), registrars may require verification of the holder’s email address; if verification is not completed in time, the domain may be suspended. You are responsible for following verification emails.
  • For .tr extensions, allocation depends on the rules of the relevant extension (such as personal or company documents, trade name or trademark registration); if suitable documents cannot be provided, allocation may not be made.

3. Rules to Follow and Disputes

  • Your domains are subject to ICANN policies, the rules of the relevant registry, BTK and TRABİS regulations for .tr domains, and the terms of registrars. You are deemed to accept these rules.
  • You declare and undertake that the domain you choose does not infringe third parties’ trademarks or other rights. Disputes brought on grounds of trademark or rights infringement (e.g. UDRP and .tr dispute procedures, court decisions) are the Holder’s responsibility.
  • A domain may be suspended, transferred or cancelled by decision of a competent authority, a registry or a registrar. TiklaWeb must comply with these decisions and cannot be held liable.
  • If a domain is used for unlawful purposes (phishing, spam, malware, etc.), action may be taken under the Acceptable Use Policy.

4. Term, Renewal and Deletion

The registration term is stated in the order summary. Before the term ends, a renewal invoice and reminder are sent to you; following the term and payment is your responsibility. You must pay the renewal before the domain name’s expiry date. The renewal, recovery and deletion periods after expiry vary by extension, registry and registrar; TiklaWeb does not set or guarantee these periods; official rules and announcements prevail.

  • International extensions (.com, .net, .org, etc.): The domain name (website and email) may stop working at expiry. Depending on the registry and registrar, an extra period of roughly up to 30–45 days is often allowed for renewal; after that the domain is deleted and, under ICANN policy, enters a redemption period of about 30 days (for an extra fee), followed by a pending-delete period of about 5 days. After that the domain is released for anyone to register. The extra period granted by the registrar may be short or may not apply at all, so payment must be made before expiry.
  • .tr extensions (.com.tr, .net.tr, .org.tr, .tr, etc.): Under the Internet Domain Names Regulation, use of a domain name that is not renewed within its allocation term is suspended for two months from expiry; renewal can be made during that time. If it is not renewed, the domain name is opened for new allocation.
  • The registrar may charge an extra fee for a renewal or recovery made after expiry; this is passed on to you.
  • Renewal invoices that are not paid by their due date are subject to the late payment fee in the Terms of Service.
  • TiklaWeb is not liable for loss of a domain name due to expiry or late payment, or for a third party registering it.
  • The renewal price is the current price at the time of renewal; it may differ from the initial registration price and is shown on the renewal invoice.

5. Transfer

  • Transfer to TiklaWeb from another registrar: The domain must be unlocked, a current transfer code (authorisation code) must be provided, and the extension’s transfer conditions must be met. A transfer usually comes with a one-year renewal and is chargeable.
  • Transfer from TiklaWeb to another registrar: If the domain has no unpaid balance and lock conditions do not prevent it, your request for a transfer code is fulfilled. The transfer code is given only to the domain holder.
  • 60-day lock: Under ICANN rules, for international extensions a domain may not be transferable between registrars for about 60 days after a new registration, transfer or a change of holder information. Other waiting periods may apply depending on the extension and registrar.
  • A change of holder (registrant) may require approval from both parties and may trigger a lock. If the domain is transferred to another person, the new holder’s information and documents are required.
  • Transfers and assignments of .tr domains are subject to the relevant regulations.

6. DNS and Domain Management

  • The domain’s DNS records (A, MX, TXT, nameservers, etc.) can be managed through the Client Area or by a support request. The Holder is responsible for outages caused by incorrect DNS settings.
  • DNS changes can take hours to propagate worldwide; this is outside TiklaWeb’s control.
  • If a privacy protection (WHOIS privacy) service is offered on the product page, it applies only if you have purchased that service and the extension supports it.

7. Fees, Refunds and Third-Party Charges

  • Fees for domain registration, renewal, transfer and recovery are shown in the order summary and the renewal invoice.
  • Domain registration and renewal are purchased in advance from suppliers and are non-refundable (see the Refund and Cancellation Policy). For orders cancelled before registration, section 5 of that policy applies.
  • Price changes, taxes and penalty-process fees applied by registries and registrars are passed on to you at renewal.

8. Limit of Liability

TiklaWeb is not liable, unless it is at fault, for system outages, errors, policy or price changes of registries and registrars, DNS propagation delays, or claims by third parties over the domain. Limitations of liability are subject to Article 15 of the Terms of Service; a consumer’s mandatory rights are reserved.

9. Personal Data

The information you provide for domain registration is passed to registries and registrars abroad under the rules of the extension; for some extensions it may be partly visible in public WHOIS/RDAP lookups. For details see the Personal Data and Privacy Agreement.

10. Changes

Domain rules and this agreement may be updated as the policies of registries and registrars change. The current version is published on this page.
