- Username and password: the details of your FTP account.
- Port: 21 for FTP, 22 for SFTP.
Steps
- Install and open the FileZilla client.
- Enter the server, username, password and port in the top fields and press quickconnect.
- The files on the server appear on the right. Open your site root folder (usually
public_html). - Drag files from the computer folder on the left to the right.
- When the transfer ends, open the site in a browser and check it.
Tips
- Use SFTP or FTPS for an encrypted connection whenever possible.
- Your home page file should be named
index.htmlorindex.php. - Back up important files before changing them.
